ABOUT LUCIA
 
From the guys that brought you Local Kitchen & Wine Bar, Michael Sangregorio and Fabio Bondi, would like to introduce you to Local's little sister Lucia. Located on the corner of 1595 DuPont Street and Franklin Ave, Lucia of fers casual Italian dining in a bright and beautiful 30 person room - unless you want to sit outside because she has a patio too.
Lucia celebrates hand-made pasta dishes and simple Italian cooking.  Inspired by neighbourly hospitality, the goal is to create a casual and unpretentious dining experience.
Winner of Enroute Magazine Canada's Best Restaurant in 2009, there's a reason Local has remained a Parkdale dining destination for over ten years; and you can expect that t he same care and attention to detail will be taken with Lucia' s brunch, lunch and dinner menus.

MEET THE CHEF

Fabio  Bondi started his hospitality career at the early age of 16 years old. As a young prep cook he explored the industry by working in several dif ferent positions including front and back of house. In his early twenties, Fabio worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and boutique style hotels.

 

Af ter being in the industry for several years he attended Toronto’s George Brown Culinary School. Graduating with honours he continued his education by attending the Italian post secondary program. During this stint, Fabio was awarded the “Cuisinart- Excellence in Italian Cuisine” Scholarship.  Furthering his education, he attended the Alma Culinary School in Parma, Italy.

 

While in Italy, Fabio was hired to work at the prestigious Michelin Star, “Il Postale” restaurant in Umbria. It was there, while working under the talented Mario Citadini, that he developed his skills in pasta making and curing of meats and fish. Chef Mario Citadini worked closely with Fabio in advancing his style and approach to

Northern and Southern Italian cuisine.
